Lac Blanc Ski Patrol Rescue Service

In case of an accident, the ski patrol of the Lac Blanc resort provides assistance on the alpine and cross-country ski areas, the sledding slopes, and can also intervene on the marked snowshoe trails of the Lac Blanc station.

To contact the ski patrol, you have several options:

  • If you have mobile phone coverage, call +33 (0)3 89 71 36 02
  • On alpine slopes: you can send someone to alert them
  • Notify the lift staff or the first aid station, who will inform the ski patrol via radio.

When making the call, provide the following information:

  • Exact location of the accident: specify the slope, marker number, or a clear landmark to quickly locate the victim.
  • Nature of the accident: describe what happened (fall, collision, illness, etc.).
  • Condition of the victim: indicate whether the person is conscious or unconscious, if they are breathing, and if they can move or not.
  • Type of injury: mention the affected body parts (leg, head, back) and the apparent severity of the injuries.

The 10 Rules of Good Conduct for Skiers on the Slopes

  1. Respect for Other Skiers: behave in a way that does not endanger or inconvenience other skiers and snowboarders.
  2. Control of Speed: adjust your speed and behaviour to match your ability level, the weather conditions, the terrain, and the density of other skiers.
  3. Choice of Route: the skier uphill is responsible for choosing a route that ensures the safety of skiers downhill.
  4. Overtaking: you may overtake on the right or the left, but always leave enough space for the other skier to continue their route safely.
  5. Entering and Crossing Slopes: before entering a slope or after stopping, make sure to check both uphill and downhill to ensure it is safe to proceed.
  6. Stopping on the Slope: avoid stopping in narrow or blind spots. If you fall, clear the slope as quickly as possible.
  7. Walking Up or Down the Slope: if you need to walk on the slope, stay at the edge to avoid obstructing other skiers.
  8. Respect for Signs and Markings: follow all signs, markers, and signals on the slopes (closures, avalanche risks, etc.).
  9. Assistance in Case of an Accident: if there is an accident, provide assistance and notify the rescue services.
  10. Identification in Case of an Accident: if you are involved in an accident, even if you are not at fault, you must provide your identity and offer testimony if necessary.
